PRIVATE THROWING SESSION
Join us in the studio for a 2 hour throwing session. With an expert tutor to guide you, it’s the fasted way to learn the art of throwing and be immersed in the world of ceramics. Available as 1-1 sessions, or as a group activity for up to 10 guests with their own wheel. (Or 20 in a split class.)

Who is this for: Everyone! From absolute beginners who’ve never touched clay, through to intermediate potters with specific challenges they want to overcome with a tutor.
What happens in the session: If you’re a complete beginner, we’ll start with a throwing demonstration. You’ll then get on the wheel and we willl help you make your first few pots. If you’re intermediete/advanced, we can work on progressing you to new forms, techniques or troubleshoot any challenges. The class is tailored to what you want from it.
Group size: It’s a private session with a dedicated teacher and private use of the studio. You can come by yourself for a 1-1, bring a friend, or make it a fun group activity. Our max capacity is 10 students for wheel throwing. (But if you’re happy to share wheels and swap half way through we can do 20!)
What can I expect to make and take home: Depending on your level, you’ll make a few pieces in the session. Included in the class price you choose your 1 favourite piece which we will finish for you (trim, glaze and fire) after the class. Additional pieces to glaze/fire are charged at £10 a piece which covers materials and firing costs.
You’ll receive an email roughly 6 weeks after the class to say you can come and collect your piece. Shipping options are also available for a fee.
Teachers: We are lucky enough to have a team fantastic throwing teachers. All of whom are professional potters and have a wealth of experience both teaching and making for commissions and galleries. Teaching quality is very important to us and they’ve each been carefully selected for their pottery expertise and exceptional teaching ability.
