This summer, we’re excited to bring you some immersive full day courses.

All levels are welcome on all courses, from total beginners through to more experienced potters looking to develop their current skills. Small class sizes and experienced tutors means we will tailor the teaching and demos to who we have on the programs. It’s the beauty of a Small class size and our USP.

2 Day Throwing

(All Levels)

Deep dive into throwing (1.5 days throwing and half a day trimming)

Explore multiple different forms from mugs to bowls to vases.

Tailoring the session to your level, we’ll make sure you feel the progression over the 2 days of throwing.

Trimming some of your work from day 1. Foot rings and different treatments

3 Day Throwing

(All Levels)

Deeper dive into throwing (2 full days of throwing and 3rd day trimming or more throwing)

Develop confidence in throwing different forms such as mugs, bowls, vases, lidded jars. It’s really all about time spent at the wheel if you’re new to pottery.

For more experienced throwers, any goals or challenges can be discussed at the start of day 1 and the tutor will tailor instruction to you over the 3 days.

Clay preparation

Trimming your work from day 1 and 2. Foot rings and different treatments.

Option to explore slip decoration.

4 Day Throwing

(All Levels)

3 full throwing days and 1 full trimming/handles etc

If you’re new to pottery, you’ll cement your ability at the wheel and feel your proficiency soar from day 1-4.

Tailored to the group, there will be lots of tutor demos for cylinders, bowls, vases, plates, lidded jars etc for both beginners and intermediates.

Experienced potters who may have reached a plateau will be able to step up to the next level. 18 hrs at the wheel under the guidance of an experienced tutor does amazing things.

Development of a small body of work (if desired!)

1 Day Throwing

(All Levels)

One immersive day of throwing on the wheel.

Depending on your level we’ll help you either nail the basics. Or if you’re more experienced, we’ll discuss your aims at the start of the day and help you progress to the next level.

Studio assistants will trim and finalise your work for you.
