Each Full Studio Member has their own dedicated shelf for storage of work and their own tools (should you wish to bring them).
Access to WIP communal shelves for freshly thrown work. Time limits apply for work on communal shelves. You are responsible for your own drying.
-
Reasonable use of our white stoneware clay and house glazes, included in your membership fee.
We use only one clay in the studio to avoid contamination of reclaim.
Members own glazes to be approved by lead technician before use - in order to protect our kiln shelves from glaze drips. Note, there’s no storage for additional member glaze buckets, but small pots of brush on glaze is allowed to be stored on member shelves.
-
Kilns are managed by our trained technician team. Members are strictly not allowed to operate kilns, load or unload.
We fire our bisque to 900 and our glaze to 1250.
Firing is charged to members separately at £6 per kg, weighed at leather-hard stage. (This fee accommodates both the combined bisque and glaze firing).
We fire kilns as and when they are full to be as environmentally friendly as possible. In quiet periods kilns might be put on a little less.
Note that this membership is not aimed at potters wanting to fire either large volumes of pieces, or very large items for commission work. A reasonable usage policy operates and we’ll manage this with members on a case by case basis if we deem firing requests to be excessive. This is to ensure fair use for all members and based on limited kiln capacity due to course firing requirements. We cannot prioritise work to be rushed through our kilns.

Members will have access to our booking system on our website. The open access times are split into 3hr member sessions which can be booked 30 days in advance, and up to 10 minutes before.
Per month you can book 24 × 3hr member sessions. You will be given 24 credits per 30 day rolling period. 1 x credit books 1 × 3hr member session. You may book back to back sessions, or recurring sessions.
(This works out as 18hrs per week, but credits can be used at any time during the month. Unused hours do not get rolled over monthly.)
Once inducted and signed up to our booking system, you’ll be able to see how many credits you have left that month.
You can cancel a booked session up to 12hrs before. After that a £5 missed session fee will apply. This is to deter members from blanket booking sessions without turning up to them and ensure fair usage for everyone.
-
A full membership costs £270 per month. Billed monthly.
There is a 3 month minimum initial sign up commitment. After that it continues on a monthly rolling basis. You must give 2 months written notice if you’d like to cancel your membership. To allow us time to fill your space.
Nice people only!
Maintaining a safe working environment for all is a non negotiable and members will need to adhere to our health and safety protocols, while also being respectful of studio equipment.
Creating a respectful, supportive, friendly atmosphere for all members, work exchange and staff members is also very important to us.
If we deem anyone is not adhering to the above, we may ask you leave the membership program.
Pausing your membership
We want to be as flexible as possible so you may pause your membership for up to 2 months during a 12 month period, without giving away your space (and shelf). There is a £75 monthly pause fee which holds your spot. Ideal for anyone needing to pause membership during the summer holidays or for travel plans. You may pause for one full month, or two (not individual weeks).
