Young Potters | 2 Day Course

Opening up our wheel throwing studio this summer for 9-13yr olds. Try out the craft, spark imagination off screen and make something you can use at home.

What: A two day wheel throwing pottery course for 9-13 year olds. Each session is 2hrs long.

Price: £120 per ticket (covers both days).

Course structure:

Day 1 - Introduction to the pottery wheel and throwing. Learn to centre the clay on the wheel and pull up cylinders. You’ll spend the session making mug bodies or bowls.

Day 2 - Once your pieces have dried a little overnight, we’ll show you how to attach handles or decorative pieces. You’ll use coloured slips to decorate.

What’s included: Unlimited clay during the session. At the end each student selects their favourite 3 pieces which the studio will dry, glaze (clear glaze) and fire for you.

Times: 2-4pm. Most Fridays during August and some Saturday/Sundays.

Age range: This workshop is for 9-13 year olds.

Experience level: No prior pottery experience is necessary. We will start with the foundations.

Work Collection: Roughly 4-6 weeks after the workshop you’ll receive an email to collect.

Tutors: These sessions are led by our teachers Regina and Ella.

Child Supervision: This is a session where you can leave your child to work independently at our studio, or if you’d prefer you’re welcome to wait in our studio. All our tutors are Enhanced DBS checked.

Cancellation policy: 7 days. Unfortunately we can’t accept cancellations due to illness, please don’t ask us to make exceptions. You’re welcome to give the class to someone else if you can’t make it - just let us know their name.
